If you have ever seen The Murder Capital live then what will strike you most about the experience is not the heaviness, the bleakness or the rage you might expect, but witnessing a most extreme vision of tenderness. Their debut album, When I Have Fears, recorded with Flood (PJ Harvey, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, New Order etc.), embodies this tenderness; it is a purple bruise on the hard knee of the so-called post-punk resurgence.

The tragic thing about comic book stories and blockbuster summer pictures is that no matter how amazing a superhero looks on paper, they can never exist in real life. Mr. Atomic is here to break that mold. The band consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Boneth Ahaneku, lead guitarist and backup vocalist Matt Stewart, bassist Mitch Rushton, and drummer Ryan Fraser. The band formed in 2015, with Fraser joining in 2018 after the band’s successful string of shows in the midwest and their debut EP “Avert The Skies”. The band built upon their sound, merging their influences of 80s and 90s garage rock with the radio-friendly modern indie sound flooding the radio, and released their full-length album “Spectator Sport” the following year. Bridging the generational gap of the genre, the indie rock band may lack the spandex tights, but they are on their way to accomplishing something super in their own right!
