Bear and the Beasts
Bear and the Beasts is composed of seven gunslingers making their stand in the foothills of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. With folk roots and an alt-country flair, Bear and the Beasts draw its inspiration from a variety of genres including punk, psychedelic, classical, and soul. Their grandiose sound, comprised of lush horn arrangements and driving rhythms, is reminiscent of legendary bands like the E Street Band while their deeply personal and articulate lyrics have drawn comparisons to Taylor Goldsmith and Conor Oberst.

And the Denver community has noticed. Within just a few short months of their inception, Bear and the Beasts have become regular guests to several of Denver’s music venues and opened for such national touring acts as Retail Space. Their debut EP, “The Convalescent” will be released on April 6, 2017 at Syntax Physic Opera House.
Some people say that Thatcher is like The White Stripes with a good drummer and a hot chick. Others say they're like The Black keys with a good drummer, and a hot chick.
Alec Ryan
Alec Ryan is a seasoned musician with an eclectic musical background. From ages 17-23 while studying music full-time, Alec's experience ranged from jazz arranging and composition, to classical piano performance, to working as a bassist, drummer, and keys player for various pop/rock acts. The deepest connection Alec has found to music is in the power of pop & rock. In high school, he began writing at the keyboard and a love was born. Over time, this love for writing both music and lyrics would give birth to the niche that Alec has found in today's music scene.

Today Alec brings to us a musical experience of storytelling via emotion-filled, fast-paced lyricism, which melds into pop hooks, all over a bed of piano-pop chords. Raised on Billy Joel, molded by Ben Folds, and modeled after Andrew McMahon, Alec is bringing his piano-pop blend of musical integrity to the stage, song after song, for a musical experience you're not likely to forget.
