They worked tirelessly to define their signature blend of lush indie pop featuring authentic 80's analog instruments. What they came up with is a hybrid sound, similar to other genre-bending pop/rock acts like Tears for Fears, The Neighbourhood, and The 1975. Cole's catchy and smart lyrical content coupled with Tyler's dark crooning vocals, paint a perfect picture for the complex themes the band tackles.
After the explosive release of their debut single, "Reaction", which received airplay on alternative radio stations across their home state, They journeyed in to the Blasting Room (Rise Against, A Day To Remember, Flobots, 888) to further craft their sound. Their second single "Blue Dreams" went viral and is played on iHeart radio stations and local broadcasts in Denver, Fort Collins, Colorado Springs, and more. Their newest single: "Dancing With The Devil" - finds the band breaking in to the mainstream in 2019, as they receive airtime and exposure to audiences all across the world.
With only 2 years as a performing act under their belt, their momentum is truly exciting to watch. They have gone from opening in small clubs to multiple sold out shows and festival appearances alongside international acts such as Blink 182, Bleachers, Dreamers, Sir Sly, St. Lucia, The Plain White Tees, and many more. You don't want to sleep on VYNYL - The future for these young, up and coming artists looks incredibly bright.
When it came time to record a full-length album, he turned to Ragnstam once again. This time, however, he flew overseas and joined the producer at his studio in Gothenberg, a quiet European city that helped fire up Cartel's imagination. Inspired by a feeling longing for his friends back home and a surge of excitement for his new songs, he finished the album in 12 days. The result is Gothenberg, a solo album inspired by everything from breakups to Alfred Hitchcock movies.
