Straight White Teeth
Straight White Teeth is the dreamy alternative pop music project of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Patrick McGuire. After McGuire’s promising denver-based band Flashbulb Fires unexpectedly disbanded in 2014, he began composing gauzy pop interpretations written mainly with a small midi keyboard and an acoustic guitar. His first EP Medicine Sword was released a year later. Drawing inspiration from a diverse set of musical influences ranging from Elliott Smith to Debussy, Straight White Teeth is known for crafting thoughtful and sometimes brooding songs often themed around McGuire coming to terms with and breaking away from his tumultuous religious upbringing through an embrace of escapism.
Whole Milk is a surf jazz trio currently based in Denver, CO. Following the release of their debut EP in April 2017, the band has extensively toured the United States playing 22 cities in the last year. Fronted by multi-instrumentalists Alec Reid and Mariah George, Whole Milk creates an ambient landscape ranging from the likes of Ty Segall and King Krule to the heavy riffage of Black Sabbath or My Bloody Valentine. The trio is completed by drummer Nate Ball, whose passion for jazz and hip-hop have led to Whole Milk’s bossa nova influence. In the last six months, Whole Milk released a collection of limited edition cassettes called ‘Tuna Tapes’. These unique, 20 minute curations feature sketches, demo’s, and electronic jams hand-dubbed by the band. Whole Milk’s DIY custom vinyl and screen printing business allows them to collaborate with fellow artists to expand their reach and keep their community involved in their journey. Tune in to Whole Milk’s newest releases on Soundcloud, Spotify, Apple Music, and Bandcamp.
