Her’s are Stephen Fitzpatrick and Audun Laading. Liverpool’s premier crank-pop duo have birthed a catalogue of tunes causing an epidemic case of the jives. Echoing the gauzy slacker sound of Mac DeMarco with guitars that chime like The Smiths, they channel the surreal and the sublime through a twist of technicolour tropicalia. A wistful tenderness inhabits the architecture of their perfect oddball pop, winning them fans at Radio 1, 6 Music, DIY, The Guardian, Stereogum and Hype Machine. In 12 months, the band have been making audiences hips shake, from Green Man to The Great Escape, Benicassim to SXSW, via Thailand with Beach Fossils.
The Undercover Dream Lovers
The Undercover Dream Loversis the American indie psychedelic dreampop project by songwriter and producer Matt Koenig. Koenig debuted the first Dream LoversEP, While It’s In Style, in early April 2016 at Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right and he hasn’t stopped since.Koenig wrote and produced all the songs for the Dream Lovers in his Brooklyn, NY bedroom before moving to Los Angeles, where he now has a home studio. Periodically, he enlists the help of friends for a drum part or mixing advice/collaboration but hopes to eventually work with a consistent band. Being a part of a band has always been Koenig’s inspiration for music, however he has found it more practical and efficient to create the songs himself. One of the biggest highlights for the Dream Lovers has been the rapid success of his single 'Good Luck', which went viral on Spotify shortly after its release in October 2016. The track also landed in an episode of Vice’s “Fuck, That’s Delicious,” scoring the project it’s first sync. ‘Come Home’ came less than a year later, landing on Spotify’s New Music Friday and going viralas well, continuing his momentum for growth. Now that he’s settled in Los Angeles, Koenig is looking forward to releasing his first full-lengthalbum in 2019 and also intends to tour much more.
